Unveiling the Cosmic Significance of Lord Vishnu's Navel: A Journey to the Centre of the Universe

As I look at the majestic picture of Lord Vishnu reclining, my attention is pulled to the marvellous lotus blossoming from his navel. This fascinating depiction has captivated me since the beginning, and I'm excited to explain the rich significance behind it. The lotus, a symbol of creation and beauty, serves as the seat of Lord Brahma, the creator of our universe. But why is it placed at Lord Vishnu's navel, and what insights does it provide about the universe?

The answer to this is in the Sanskrit word "नाभि" or Navel in English, which means centre. The ancient sages communicated a deep lesson by putting the lotus at his navel: the cosmos originated from a single place, a centre of consciousness. Lord Vishnu's picture tells us, "This is where it all started, and this is where it all expands from." The navel means the axis of creation, the source of all life and energy.

As I think about this visual, I am impressed by how elegant and simple this ancient depiction is. The reclining Lord Vishnu, with the lotus and Brahma at his navel, is more than simply a beautiful piece of art; it is a portal to understanding the mysteries of the cosmos. It serves as a reminder that everything originates from a single place, a hub of consciousness that connects us all.

In this blog, I invite you to join me to explore the symbolism and significance of Lord Vishnu's navel. Let's delve into the depths of this ancient wisdom and uncover the secrets hidden within. Whether you're a spiritual seeker or simply curious about the mysteries of the universe, I hope this journey will inspire and enlighten you.

धन्यवाद। 🌻

  2. Don't you feel that mythologies from the past are signposts on the tracks of ancient wisdom? Sometimes it also feels like the "original author" is playing a game of treasure hunt with us?
The above may sound weird till one notices that modern stem cell therapy uses the cells harvested from the umbilical cord.....and guess where that is attached......
    yes...the navel!!

  5. There's this sholka from Gita that's one of my favorites that i remembered while reading your post-
    तेषां ज्ञानी नित्ययुक्त एकभक्तिर्विशिष्यते।
    प्रियो हि ज्ञानिनोऽत्यर्थमहं स च मम प्रियः।।
It means-the wise and the curiously devoted one always exceeds in seeking the mysteries! And that's why I am exceedingly dear to such wise people and they are dearest to me!

Sometimes while finding Divine in everything leads to finding ones true self and all the mysteries interwined within.
